Matters Arising
Hebridean Connections
Second
draft of Memo and Articles of Association had been circulated
with a view to set up a company. This would be a Company
Limited by Guarantee with charitable status. Sara Egan is
the contact person. Comann Eachdraidh Tholastaidh would
have two representatives on the Company's Board. We would
agree formally two representatives at the AGM or we may
arrange a rotation of representatives.
Clachan
Crìche
The
publication was still at the Printers. The official launch
was imminent and Murdo Macleod, Inverness (ex.Gress) had
been approached to write a review of the book for the Stornoway
Gazette.
The
date of the launch was set provisionally for 24 February
2006.
Representatives
from the funding bodies (CnaG and the Comhairle) and PnE
had been invited to attend. It was also envisaged that a
number of singers/others would be invited to sing/recite
some of the bàrdachd. Teas would be served.
Young
Historians
The
Fishing Book had been completed and was for sale at various
retail outlets. Cash from sales forwarded to the Treasurer
on the night £463.50.
A
cheque for c.£1,684 had been paid out to meet the
Comhairle's printing costs.
£2,185

now closed and remaining funding forthcoming – although
of course YH would continue as part of mainstream Comann
Eachdraidh activities.
Tolsta

Angus
would speak to Susan Rabe, WICAP officer, on the following
day about a finalised plan/progress.
Regarding
the request to NTCC to front the application, Angus would
speak to Catriona so that the matter could be brought up
at their meeting on the following Wednesday.
Caidreachas
Eachdraidh
Donald
had attended the AGM - 12 people in attendance. The group
had a new committee, which gave it fresh impetus. It was
important to attend these meetings from now on. Donald had
been attending the meetings, but we would decide at the
AGM who would attend on behalf of Comann Eachdraidh Tholastaidh
in future. An Caidreachas was in the process of appointing
a researcher (publicly funded). Some names were mooted.
Donald would write to their Secretary requesting that the
post be advertised externally.

The Comann
Eachdraidh now had broadband – a huge improvement – £19.99

The
question was raised as to whether Hebridean Connections would
pay for the ongoing costs of broadband? Not known, but certainly,
they would fund a post within the Comann Eachdraidh.
