SABBATH SCHOOL SOIREE
The children attending the Sabbath School carried on under the auspices of the West Coast Mission by Nurse Cameron, had their annual soiree on Friday, 17th January.
There was a large turn-out of children and a very pleasant evening was spent. Mrs. Cameron was ably assisted by Mrs. MacLeod, Schoolhouse and by three of the lady teachers. Mr. Murdo MacLeod, M.A., Headmaster of the local School, opened the Meeting with Prayer.
After the tea was served, the children sang several Psalms and Hymns and during an interval in the Programme, Mr. MacLeod addressed the Scholars and in the course of his remarks, he made special mention of the late Mr. Duff, who had taken such a deep interest in the children of North Tolsta and in everything that tended to the good of the Community. He also spoke highly of the good the Sabbath School was doing in the district and he was sure that the people appreciated the work carried on by Mrs. Cameron and by Miss MacLeod.
Thereafter, Mr. MacLeod gave some gramophone selections, which were much appreciated by the children. In former years, the late Mr. Duff used to forward a liberal supply of cake for the soiree and this year his Clerkess, Miss Kerr, forwarded the usual supply. To her and to the Directors of the Mission, the children are very grateful.
