Tolsta
School Cross Country Success
Session
2005-06 has been a successful one for Tolsta's army of cross
country runners. For a small school of only 45 children it
has competed with the bigger schools and often triumphed over
them. It is not unusual to get 40-50% of Tolsta pupils taking
part in the Lewis and Harris Championships.
This
year Tolsta runners won first place in the U-9 Boys (Stuart
Macdonald), U-11 Girls (Catriona Mackay) and U-11 Boys (Campbell
Macdonald) individual events, as well as winning the U-11
Girls team prize and coming third in the Boys U-9 team event.
This
success followed them into the Western Isles Championship.
Schools from the Butt to Barra competed for the individual
running awards.
Catriona
Mackay won the Girls U-11 trophy and Campbell Macdonald the
Boys U-11 cup. This was Campbell 's third consecutive victory
at this level having twice won the U-9 event.
Well
done all of you! Keep it up!
